well actually I haven’t finished the frame but tosh is ready to do that (gutted and working), I have also another notebook gutted for this reason – it’s satellite 430cdt (p120 16mb ram, 11” 800×600) but t8000 is better because it boots quick w/o hd (satellite tries to detect the hard drive for few minutes I think – then boots from FDD only + it lacks USB) and t8000 can boot off CD too. tecra 8k seems reasonable choice, though I’d delaying coz I want to substitute HD somehow.

I want to make a digital frame too,and i am searching for an old laptop,did you find any difficulties making a digital frame from this particular laptop ? Thanks

about hour ago I finished disassembling that non complete 8k I plan to use as digital frame – they have very small motherboard making it ideal for this purpose… if only this machine could boot from usb directly

yesterday I bought another one (missing hdd/cd,dead battery, for making a digital frame out of it
) well I didn’t encouter any srious technical problems with these machines. my oldie was p2-233 128mb ram 4gb hdd (Which died, then I used it several days as internet kiosk running BARTPE from cd w/o hdd and it finally got sold), little 12” 800×600 and 24x cd. this older one worked fine with win98 besides worn hard disk. This faster presented in movie runs a little stripped down xp fine
