Just a short video showing how smooth Aero effects runs under Windows 7 build 7000 on a lenovoideapads10 with only 1 gig of ram.
also there some questions about the battery life changing on Windows 7, so far i have not seen any diference, thats not to say there isn’t i just havnt payed to much attention to setting under Windows 7 i am still getting 2 hours with browsing, video playing, and video editing. thats suficient enough for me right now.
running on my lenovoideapads10 1 gig ram only, seemed to use average 500mb – 600mb of ram seen it go down to 345mb at times but still a far cry for xp’s 200mb or less.
anyways what i did was just swap the hard drive out for a 120 gig formatted it and installed it that way my original hard drive was untouched so i can put it back in without erasing my one touch backup. i also made a image backup of my drive with acronis but didnt use it. this way i can swap hard drives anytime for either OS i want to run.
Windows 7 def ran nice with only 1 gig ram and well better then vista.
but i also noticed that win 7 incorporated some tablet pc functions which i thought was cool and sicne i will be doing a touch screen mod it will come in handy.
Since at the seminar they demo-ed a lenovos10 with win 7 i had to try it. and since i was in the beta program for win 7 i felt confident it was going to go smooth.
the install took a whopping 35 minutes to install that was quite fast considering it takes longer then xp.
overall it run very well. it doesnt beat xp’s speed or ram usage.
but def nice to try with the new features win 7 has to offer. i cannot wait till the official release it will be a must for sure.
Lenovo face recogntion is a sweet feature and i enjoyed using it. it logs users getting scanned tryn to log in as well pretty neat!
Well i will upload the video of the install as well.
the install was done using a usb externel dvd rom. no glitches and no errors from start to finish!
I will let my voice review in the video speak for itself but i have finally found the perfect netbooklaptop for me.
I opted for the larger ram and hard drive version 1 gig ram – 160 Hard drive. because i heard at least 30-40 gig would be in use for the recover system. and it was true.
It has the look, feel and performance i was looking for. the awesome textured black with a traditional look and feel has finally stopped me from looking for another netbook for now. it feels very solid and professional not like a toy or fragile like the aspireone or the eeepc i had.
of the tests i did it rated higher then both my eeepc 1000h or my aspireone. i didn’t test my msi because i returned it right after getting it as i didn’t like the design to be honest.
but this one has won it over for me. i’ll do another video with more light. i did this video because i had the time t do it. so another will follow in a few days.
Just screen demoing a look for my desktop without using standard xp look. no themes have been installed just using rdock and opera.
Since i bought this laptop i am done looking for a netbook. this lenovoideapads10 has the look, feel and performance i was looking for, if you seen my other videos you will see i have had several other types in which my last was an aspireone which i thought was a nice setup i just didnt like how acer didn’t allow you to upgrade it easily without ripping it part and i ultimatly needed a 10″ netbook.
the lenovo uses a standard 2.5 sata drive and is capable of 2 gig ram memory ( that is accesible by removing the panel underneath ) to get 2 gigs of ram you will have to buy a 2 gig memory card and because it has onboard 512mb soldered to the board the system will still give you total of 2 gig instead of 2.5 which is still acceptable!.
The lenovo has such a sleek thin design i fell in love with it the first day looking at it. ( ofcourse the all black version ) without the smooth glossy finishes you see on most laptops it is not a fingerprint whore. the matte textured surface is a very nice feel. the 10.2″ screen is definatly easier on the eyes as with all the 8.9″ screen netbooks it had made me feel like leaning into them to look at the screen whenever using them. i think the tradional very sleek look of the lenovoideapad won me over! i’ll do a review video later. this video was just showing my desktop and functions of the theme or non theme heh etc..
Today I’m hacking my lenovoS10 by adding a Bluetooth module. The part just came in from a seller on eBay, so I shot this quick video of the install procedure for anyone out there interested in doing this themselves.
This is the unboxing of the LenovoIdeaPadS10netbook. Keep in mind that this machine is a test model for my dad’s company, he just let me unbox it. If he ever brings it home again, I will do a review. This model has a 1.6GHz IntelAtom, 512MB memory, 80GB SATA HDD, and runs WindowsXP.
Lenovo’s IdeaPadS10 is a 10″ Netbook that sports low power consumption, ultra-portability, respectable performance and a well rounded feature set. It’s built on Intel’s new low-power Atom processor. Taking on such challengers as Asus’ EeePC and the MSI Wind, Lenovo offers this svelte machine for a modest 9 entry price point.
I decide to crack open the latest netbook from Lenovo, the IdeapadS10. While it may not feature the same bells and whistles as other subnotes on the market – it sure is fabulous!
