I got a compaq prresario and i am looking for a new graphic card with 128 MB or 256 MB PCI. It can not be a high powered graphic card because I have an older computer. My power source isn’t high.

I have a Compaq Presario 5000 and I’m thinking about buying a firewire card so that I can put my stuff from my video camera on the PC. First of all, would I be able to do this? If so, I’m confused to where the card would be installed (ie: back, front, etc). Finally, if you happen to know, which card do you recommend. Thanks so much for your help, it really means a lot to me.

I have the new all in one Sony Vaio LT25E and these all come with an NVIDIA GEForce 8400M GT graphics card. My question is, Can I upgrade this. I have a Intel Core 2 Duo processor at 1.66Ghz and 3GB of ram. On my old Vaio I could watch Tv in the background while I played EQ2. Now the windows media player gets all choppy when I try to do that. Any suggestions?

My Compaq (Presario SR1810NX with XP Home Ed, 1.5GB DDR 3200 RAM, 100GB HD) computer came with an all-in-one mobo (i.e., 256MB graphics, 32-bit audio chips; on-board modem and ethernet connection) when I bought the whole system April of last year. And while I was enjoying HP’s year-long manufacturer’s warranty then, I already tried to inquire which nVidia video card(s) works fine with my PC, but I never did learn anything new without buying from their online store? I understand also that today’s newer graphics cards may just prove incompatible to last year’s specs but I still wish to know from others who happened to own the same PC I use. Your feedback is most appreciated. Thanks!
