Lenovo G550 Value Line Series… A few cool specs are LED screen, ddr3 ram and overall thin design. A few not so cool things are no HDMI, a weak integrated intel 4500m graphics and a not so accurate track pad. But you cant expect alot from Lenovo value line series.

Doesn’t get very hot, probably mostly because it has an Intel integrated graphics. Ive owned other laptops that get quite hot.

I don’t know what sound your speak of, but the laptop is off. If you want a sleek and professional looking laptop you would like this.

HDMI is beginning to become more standard on laptops as oppose to a few years ago, but this particular model didn’t have it.
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:24 am
What?? No HDMI?? I thought this was standard?

Totally agree with you on reviews when people don’t showcase the laptop when closed. Also with the dark gray color, it makes the notebook look very professional.

Nice review. Thanks for also showing how the laptop looks closed, not enough video reviews do this. I like the grey business look in laptops and I think this Lenovo value line is the only one that retains that serious appearance (sort of like the old Dell Latitudes -which unfortunately have now been changed to the usual cheap, glossy, plasticy look.

The review is great but I decided to skip on this one for some reasons coz of week graphics card and no HDMI I guess. But well i am also looking for a smaller lapie also.

December 23rd, 2009 at 8:24 am
Not sure. But the exterior cover is dark gray and it looks decent.
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:24 am
i was wondering, how come top of this laptop looks grayish and many of the sellers mark it as ‘BLACK’ why is that?
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:24 am
No. Slightly lighter than most laptops its size.
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:24 am
thanks for the review. is this laptop heavy to carry around?
December 23rd, 2009 at 8:24 am
i bought the g550 2958bu , 4 gb ram memory,
its the exact same, only the ram is higher,
its battery life is more than 3 hrs n for its price, it really is a fantastic laptop to buy plus it has a brilliant screen and display……
