Marc there has been an BIOS update , but when i updated or tried to update it to A02 i am getting error it says NTVDM.EXE has stopped working and i am not able to flash it to new BIOS …did you try it?
hi why do u say go for the vaio fw as i was really considering that as well but in the ned i have decided to go for this dell can u tell me the reason for your comment?
I can guarantee you’ll get noticied with a Vaio. The only advantage with the XPS Studio is the eSATA port which is great for external hard drives. Both of course support BluRay. Both video solutions are wonderful. I have never heard of a Sony Vaio failling outside of the box. A Dell? Hmm… Plus the asthetics to a Vaio are incredible. You can never go wrong with Sony. PLEASE NOTE: This is a personal preference. If you enjoy the XPS Studio and it works well, stick with it!
This system is more expensive than the Vaio, so that makes sense. Once again, it’s entirely up to your preference. I am a casual user, thus the Vaio caught my attention.
I’m getting one this June, when I’ll quit orchestra and sell my violin for $1299. Then I can use that to buy my own. Mine will dwarf my friend’s in performance and storage
The difference is that everything on the 64 bit is like double the size… So say the Vista OS takes up 5gb on the 32 bit, on 64 bit it will be 10gb.
The plus side to the 64bit though is the ability to utilize all of the RAM, on a 32bit OS the Max amount of RAM that can be used is 3.25gb, so even if you have 8GB of RAM on a 32bit system you wont be able to use it, where as on a 64 bit you will use the full 8gb of RAM.
how long did it take for this to arrive after you ordered it? i ordered mine on the 11th of march so was wondering how long i should be waiting for it. going to take much longer than the “8*10 day estimate” dell had said i reckon
i have seen this laptop in my dreams…. finally … i always wnated a laptop wid the looks of a studio and the specs and looks of an xps… the dream machine… fck u mac…

Might I suggest you go with the Vaio FW. I can almost guarantee you won’t regret it. I work for Dell technical support for hardware. Trust me.

hi again,
i understand what you are saying about sony but if you compare both laptops the fw and this dell.
1. this dell has dd3 memory
2. this dell has adi redon card which is 3670 the sony only 3650.
dell processor spped is 1000mhz sony is 800mhz?
so what do you think about this?

you cant run 8GB ram on 32 bit Vista (x86)
but on 64 bit (x64)
March 26th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
From the moment you push the power button til the moment vista screen pops up so you can put your password:
