Cheapest Netbook in Malaysia for RM649

Asus is selling the at RM649.00 in Malaysia. How cheap (the price that is) can you go?

What do you get for RM649.00? You will get total mobile computing freedom from . The currently in Malaysia run on an Intel Celeron Mobile 800MHz, 512MB of RAM, 2GB Solid State Disk Drive, and integrated display, sound, card reader and networking peripherals.

The come with a 7″ monitor with a maximum resolution of 800×480 pixels. Although the came pre-installed with Linux as its Operating System, many has succeeded in installing Microsoft Windows XP and Google Chrome OS, the latest craze in mobile Operating System nowadays. The battery life should last about 3 hours of heavy usage.

By just looking at the specification you will definitely know that this netbook are only meant for surfing and not suitable for intensive resource usage application such as gaming. The point is, the is cheap, small, light and you can take it everywhere, hence the name “total mobile computing freedom”.

I will expect several netbook manufacturer in Malaysia to follow Asus in releasing new netbook model in Malaysia with new price revision. With several new laptop emerging in the Ultra Portable Laptop segment, the device in the netbook segment will became smaller, lighter and cheaper.
